80’s Movie Songs!

80’s movie songs. Let’s face it, we all are guilty when it comes to 80’s Movie songs! There is at least one song that struck you as a child, that sat within your musical memory banks and made you want to dance around like a person in an 80’s bubble of madness!

Just a little taste of the 80’s for you!

Check out our selection of 80’s Movie Songs, maybe you will run around punching meat in a chiller, perhaps you will remember how you fell in love with a shop clothes dummy, or maybe you will simply sit back and enjoy some of the best Movie songs ever!

Huey Lewis & the News – ‘Power of Love’

Yes we are hitting you with one of the BIG guns in 80’s Movie Songs! Who can resist a little bit of Huey Lewis & The News?! The song featured in the 1985 film Back to the Future and hit number 1 in the US, but only reached a number 9 in the miserable old UK! It’s one of our favourites here at Atomic Threads, and we are sure there are plenty of you who will be rocking out and dreaming of driving a DeLorean later on!

Kenny Loggins – ‘I’m alright’

Yes, yes, and even more yes! This song is another classic 80’s Movie Song that we just can’t get enough of! You may have remembered a certain little Gopher shuffling to this track in the the 1980 classic Caddyshack! The distinctive voice of Kenny Loggins, who was also known as “King of Movie Soundtrack”, can be found on several amazing movies from the 80’s! His songs also appeared in Footloose and Top Gun to name but a few! Check out how good he is live too, where can we buy a ticket?

Survivor – ‘Eye Of The Tiger’

Who can forget this little gem? That’s right, smashing you with an 80’s uppercut to the ears we have the one, the only ‘Eye Of The Tiger’. Few songs can grasp you within the first 10 seconds like this song does. Instantly recognisable and totally awesome, the song was written at the request of Sylvester Stallone and was to be the theme tune for Rock III. It topped the charts worldwide and is one of the best selling singles of all time!

Starship – ‘Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now’

Here we go again with another 80’s Movie Song classic! Yes, just when you may have thought your life was weird along came the film Mannequin. Basically a dude falls in love with a shop window display dummy, she comes to life just for him, which in turn makes him look a little bit odd. It’s actually quite a funny film but the soundtrack kicks butt everywhere! Get your backcombed hair out everyone, its time to get emotional!

Lyndsay Buckingham – ‘Holiday Road’

Personally, I wanted this song played in the car for every holiday I went on as a child! Maybe I didn’t want the mayhem of the Griswolds, but it definitely got me in the mood for some holiday action! This song was written and recorded by Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lyndsay Buckingham and was featured in the 1983 film National Lampoon’s Vacation. It did rubbish in the charts, but who cares, its absolutely awesome and we are sure you agree!
